Plot Summary

Doctor Strange tells the origin story of Dr. Stephen Strange, a world-renowned neurosurgeon whose life is irrevocably changed after a devastating car accident leaves his hands severely damaged. Once driven by ego, precision, and material success, Strange is forced to confront the limits of modern medicine when conventional science can no longer heal him.

In his desperate search for recovery, Strange encounters a hidden realm of mysticism and ancient knowledge that exists beyond ordinary human perception. Under the guidance of powerful sorcerers, he begins to explore secret dimensions, alternate realities, and the fragile balance that holds the universe together. What starts as a personal journey of healing gradually transforms into a responsibility far greater than himself.

As Strange masters the mystic arts, he is drawn into a conflict that threatens reality itself, forcing him to choose between returning to his former life or embracing his new role as a protector of humanity against dark, otherworldly forces.

The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen, and Academy Award® winner Tilda Swinton. Doctor Strange was released in theaters on November 4, 2016.
