Plot Summary

28 Days Later opens with the accidental release of a devastating pathogen so contagious that even a single drop of blood is enough to transmit it. The infection works in seconds, hijacking its victims with an uncontrollable surge of rage that turns ordinary people into relentless, murderous predators.

In less than a month, the outbreak collapses the country. Cities fall silent, streets become lethal, and the structures of everyday life dissolve into abandonment and panic. Amid the ruins, the few survivors left standing are forced to rebuild their lives from scratch—scavenging, hiding, and searching for any sign that safety still exists somewhere beyond the empty roads.
