Cybill Shepherd is best known worldwide for her role as detective Madelyn “Maddie” Hayes in the television series Moonlighting, a performance that made her one of the most recognizable actresses of the 1980s. She was born on February 18, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, as the daughter of William Jennings Shepherd and Patty Shepherd. Her full name is Cybill Lynne Shepherd.
