Plot Summary

After reclaiming his powers and returning to Asgard, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) faces a far more ancient and devastating threat than any he has encountered before. In the aftermath of his battle with Loki (Tom Hiddleston), the Nine Realms stand vulnerable as a primordial force long thought extinct begins to rise once more.

The Dark Elves, led by the ruthless Malekith (Christopher Eccleston), emerge from the shadows with a single goal: to plunge the universe back into eternal darkness. Wielding an ancient weapon of unimaginable power, Malekith launches an assault so overwhelming that even Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and the might of Asgard struggle to withstand it.

As the fate of the cosmos hangs in the balance, Thor is forced into an uneasy alliance that challenges his deepest convictions. His journey leads him back to Earth and reunites him with astrophysicist Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), whose own destiny becomes intertwined with the dark forces threatening all existence.

Caught between duty and desire, Thor must make profound sacrifices to save both the woman he loves and the worlds he is sworn to protect. In doing so, he confronts the true cost of heroism and the fragile line between light and darkness.
