Story Overview

Set in the year 2018, after Judgment Day has already occurred, humanity is locked in a brutal war against the machines. Skynet has seized control of the world, deploying relentless armies to exterminate the remaining human resistance. Amid the ruins of civilization, a small but determined group of survivors continues to fight back against annihilation.

At the center of this resistance stands John Connor (Christian Bale), a hardened leader who believes firmly in humanity’s eventual victory. His certainty is shaken by the sudden appearance of a mysterious stranger, Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a man who remembers death row and imprisonment but cannot explain how he arrived in this devastated future.
