Plot Summary

Inspired by true events, the film follows Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis as he leads the city through the aftermath of a horrific terrorist attack. In the immediate wake of the bombing, Davis works alongside survivors and law enforcement agencies in a desperate race against time to prevent another possible explosion.

Focusing on the events leading up to and following the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, the story chronicles the massive manhunt that engulfed the entire city after the attack. The real-life incident occurred on April 15, 2013, at 2:49 p.m. local time, near the marathon’s finish line, shattering a day meant to celebrate endurance and unity.

Starring Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Monaghan and Melissa Benoist, the film also features an impressive supporting cast including J.K. Simmons, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, Rachel Brosnahan and Michael Beach. Together, they portray the collective resilience of a city pushed to its limits.
