Story Overview

Haunted by a brutal past, Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) has come to believe that the only way to survive in a broken world is to remain alone. Scarred by loss and violence, Max drifts through the wasteland, avoiding attachments and trusting no one in a society that has collapsed into chaos.

Despite his instincts, Max is drawn into the midst of a desperate escape led by the fierce and determined Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron). She commands a group of survivors fleeing across the barren wastelands, constantly on the run from the tyrannical ruler Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), who governs their environment with ruthless cruelty.

Immortan Joe is pursuing something stolen from him—an irreplaceable loss that threatens his absolute control.
