Story Overview

Mad Max is set in a near-future society where urban civilization is collapsing under the weight of unchecked violence, moral decay, and social breakdown. Anarchy dominates everyday life, and the boundaries between law and chaos have all but disappeared.

The city’s highways have become deadly battlegrounds, ruled by savage motorcycle gangs and a dwindling police force struggling to maintain order. These roads are no longer mere passages of transport, but arenas of survival where speed, brutality, and fear dictate the rules.

After suffering a devastating personal tragedy, Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson), a hardened highway patrol officer, abandons any remaining faith in conventional justice. Driven by grief and rage, he chooses to confront terror on his own terms, embracing a ruthless path that blurs the line between protector and predator.

Through its raw energy, stark violence, and dystopian vision, Mad Max redefined action cinema, laying the groundwork for a legendary franchise and introducing a world where survival is the only law that matters.
