Locke (2014)

Official Trailer

Plot Summary

Locke is a tightly focused, minimalist drama that unfolds entirely within the confines of a moving car, transforming an ordinary nighttime drive into an intense psychological reckoning.

Ivan Locke is a successful construction manager whose life appears perfectly ordered: a stable career, a devoted wife, and two young children waiting for him at home. However, during a routine drive, a series of unexpected phone calls shatter this carefully built stability. Each call forces Locke to confront the consequences of a single decision that threatens to dismantle everything he has worked for.

As the car moves steadily forward, time becomes his greatest enemy. Through fragmented conversations with colleagues, family members, and strangers, Locke attempts to prevent a professional disaster while simultaneously holding his personal life together. The film’s tension arises not from action, but from moral responsibility, guilt, and the quiet weight of accountability.

Driven by a powerful central performance from Tom Hardy, Locke strips cinema down to its bare essentials, proving that a compelling story needs neither spectacle nor multiple locations—only truth, consequence, and a man forced to face himself.
