Plot Summary

Ice Age: The Meltdown continues the adventures of the beloved prehistoric heroes as the frozen world they once called home begins to thaw. Manny the woolly mammoth (Ray Romano), Sid the talkative sloth (John Leguizamo), and Diego the saber-toothed tiger (Denis Leary) once again find themselves navigating a rapidly changing landscape where melting glaciers transform their icy valley into a dangerous and unpredictable environment.

While the animals celebrate the warmer climate, a looming disaster quietly approaches. The melting ice has formed a colossal dam holding back an enormous ocean of water that threatens to flood the entire valley. Realizing the danger, Manny, Sid, and Diego set out on a perilous journey to reach higher ground before the natural barrier collapses and destroys everything in its path.

During the journey, Manny encounters Ellie, a female mammoth voiced by Queen Latifah, who believes she is actually an opossum due to being raised by the mischievous opossum brothers Crash and Eddie, voiced by Seann William Scott and Josh Peck. Their odd family dynamic creates both comedic chaos and unexpected emotional moments as Manny struggles with the possibility that he may not be the last mammoth after all.

Directed by Carlos Saldanha, one of the Oscar-winning creators behind Ice Age and Robots, the film blends fast-paced adventure with humor and heartfelt themes about friendship, identity, and belonging. As the group travels across a constantly shifting prehistoric world filled with danger and absurd situations, they form an unlikely family determined to survive the greatest meltdown their world has ever faced.
