Official Trailer

Plot Summary

On a sweltering summer morning in Missouri, Nick and Amy Dunne are preparing to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary. The day takes a chilling turn when Amy suddenly disappears without a trace. As hours pass and she fails to return home, suspicion quickly falls on her husband, Nick, whose calm demeanor and contradictory statements begin to unsettle both the police and the public.

Nick’s own mind becomes an unreliable witness. Haunted by disturbing dreams in which he brutally murders his wife, he struggles to separate guilt from fear. Despite his repeated claims of innocence, the media frenzy and mounting evidence entangle him in a dense web of lies, manipulation, and betrayal.

As Amy’s secret diary is uncovered, the image of a flawless, loving wife starts to fracture. The words reveal unsettling truths that challenge every assumption about her character. Piece by piece, the narrative shifts, exposing that Amy may not be as innocent—or as powerless—as she appears.

Whether Amy is alive or dead remains the film’s central mystery, but what gradually emerges is a ruthless psychological battle between two people who know each other far too well. Gone Girl dissects marriage, media spectacle, and identity with cold precision, delivering a dark, unsettling portrait of how truth can be manufactured—and weaponized.
