Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)
Official Trailer
Plot Summary
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them expands the Wizarding World created by J.K. Rowling with a brand-new story set decades before the events of the Harry Potter series. The film follows Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), a reserved and brilliant magizoologist who arrives in 1920s New York carrying a mysterious suitcase filled with extraordinary magical creatures.
When several of Newt’s creatures accidentally escape into the city, the delicate balance between the magical and non-magical worlds is threatened. Teaming up with unlikely allies, including former Auror Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), her sister Queenie (Alison Sudol), and No-Maj Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler), Newt embarks on a race against time to recapture the creatures before chaos erupts.
Directed by David Yates, the film blends classic fantasy adventure with a darker, more mature tone, introducing new mythologies while preserving the spirit of the Wizarding World. With its richly detailed period setting, imaginative creature design, and themes of tolerance and coexistence, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them marks the beginning of an ambitious cinematic saga that broadens the magical universe for a new generation.
