Story Overview

Face/Off follows FBI agent Sean Archer (John Travolta), whose life is shattered after his young son is killed during a failed assassination attempt by the ruthless terrorist Castor Troy (Nicolas Cage). Years later, Archer finally captures Troy, only for the criminal to fall into a deep coma.

In a desperate move to dismantle Troy’s terrorist network, Archer agrees to an experimental and highly controversial procedure: his face is surgically replaced with Troy’s, allowing him to assume the criminal’s identity and extract critical information from Troy’s associates.

The plan collapses when Troy awakens from his coma, discovers the truth, and undergoes the same operation to steal Archer’s face—and his life. Trapped in prison and branded a criminal, the real Archer must fight not only to reclaim his identity, but also to save his wife (Joan Allen – Nixon) and daughter from a nightmare beyond imagination.
