Plot Summary

Children of Men is set in the year 2027, in a world on the brink of collapse where humanity has lost its ability to reproduce. Eighteen years have passed since the last child was born, and global society has descended into chaos, authoritarian control, and widespread despair.

Theo (Clive Owen), a disillusioned former activist numbed by personal loss and political apathy, is unexpectedly approached by his former lover Julian (Julianne Moore). She persuades him to take on a dangerous mission: escorting a young, mysteriously pregnant woman to safety outside the city.

As violence erupts and the state tightens its grip, Theo is forced into a relentless race against time. Pursued by both rebels and government forces, he must navigate a crumbling world to protect what may be humanity’s final hope. In doing so, Theo confronts his own lost ideals and risks everything to deliver a miracle the world has long believed impossible.
