Daniel Dubois is an English professional boxer who became the International Boxing Federation (IBF) heavyweight champion in June 2024. He was born on September 6, 1997, in Greenwich, London, United Kingdom. His father, Dave Dubois, is of Grenadian origin. Daniel has two siblings, Caroline Dubois and Prince Dubois. His younger sister, Caroline Dubois, is also a professional boxer.



Daniel Dubois was introduced to boxing at the age of nine when his father took him to a boxing gym in South London to keep him out of trouble. Dubois went on to compete in approximately 75 amateur bouts. During his amateur career, he won two English Schools Championships, two Junior ABA titles, multiple CYP titles, and the English Senior Championship. He spent a year and a half as part of the GB Elite program in Sheffield, representing England around a dozen times. He also competed twice at the European Junior Championships and won gold medals at the Tammer Tournament in Finland and the Brandenburg Tournament in Germany.

In 2020, although selected for Team GB for the Tokyo Olympic Games, Daniel Dubois chose to turn professional instead. He signed with Queensberry Promotions under renowned boxing promoter Frank Warren.

Dubois made his professional debut in April 2017, defeating Marcus Kelly by knockout within the first 35 seconds of the opening round. In just his fourth professional fight, he captured the vacant WBC Youth Heavyweight title by knocking out Mauricio Barragan in the second round. In October 2017, he added the Southern Area Heavyweight title to his résumé with a first-round knockout victory over AJ Carter.

In June 2018, during his eighth professional bout, Daniel Dubois defeated the experienced Tom Little by fifth-round knockout to win the British heavyweight title. In October 2018, he faced Kevin Johnson and won by points after ten rounds. Continuing his rise, Dubois knocked out Nathan Gorman in the fifth round in July 2019, improving his record to 12–0 with 11 knockouts and capturing the vacant British heavyweight championship.

At the regional level, between 2019 and 2020, Daniel Dubois secured multiple heavyweight titles, including British and Commonwealth championships. As an amateur, he was a five-time national youth titleholder and an English champion.

Dubois suffered the first defeat of his professional career on November 27, 2020, when he lost to Joe Joyce at Church House in London. After more than six months away from the ring, he returned on June 5, 2021, in Telford, where he defeated Bogdan Dinu by second-round knockout, winning the vacant WBA Interim Heavyweight title. This victory made him the mandatory challenger for the WBA Regular title held by Trevor Bryan.

On June 11, 2022, Daniel Dubois faced Trevor Bryan in Miami, Florida, and knocked him out in the fourth round to become the WBA Regular Heavyweight Champion. Later that year, on December 3, 2022, Dubois fought Kevin Lerena in London. Despite being knocked down three times, he recovered dramatically to win by third-round technical knockout.

From 2022 to 2023, Daniel Dubois held the World Boxing Association heavyweight title. On August 25, 2023, he challenged unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in Wrocław, Poland, but suffered the second defeat of his career.

On May 31, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Daniel Dubois defeated Filip Hrgović by knockout in the eighth round. This victory propelled him to the pinnacle of the division, and in June 2024 he was crowned the IBF World Heavyweight Champion.

On September 21, 2024, Daniel Dubois achieved one of the biggest victories of his career by knocking out Anthony Joshua in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium in London.
