Plot Summary

The Stone Council follows Diane (Monica Bellucci), whose life collapses after her adopted son Liu-San (Nicolas Thau) narrowly survives a devastating accident. Shaken to the core, Diane begins to suffer from relentless nightmares and hallucinations, pushing her to the brink of madness. Although Liu-San recovers miraculously, his survival only deepens Diane’s growing sense of unease.

Obsessed with unanswered questions, Diane starts to doubt everything she knows about her son. Who is Liu-San really? Where does he come from? What is the meaning of the strange mark on his chest, and what role did the Asko Foundation play in his adoption? Seeking answers, she turns to Sergeï (Moritz Bleibtreu), a young Russian man who becomes her uneasy ally in uncovering the truth.

Their investigation leads them to the mysterious Tsevens, an enigmatic Mongolian tribe governed by an ancient entity known as the Stone Council. As Diane gets closer to the truth, a series of disturbing and unexplained deaths begins to occur around her, suggesting that powerful forces are determined to keep the secret buried.

On Liu-San’s seventh birthday, the child is suddenly abducted. Convinced she knows where he has been taken, Diane follows his trail into the remote and unforgiving landscapes of Eastern Mongolia. There, in a forgotten and brutal world governed by ancestral rituals and destiny, she embarks on a harrowing journey to confront her son’s origins—and the dark fate written for him long before she ever became his mother.
