Story Overview

The Nanny Diaries follows Annie Braddock (Scarlett Johansson), a recent college graduate from New Jersey who finds herself unexpectedly stepping into the elite world of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Struggling to define her future, Annie takes a job as a nanny for a wealthy and emotionally distant family, quickly discovering that life among the privileged is far more complicated than it appears.

Tasked with caring for young Grayer (Nicholas Art), Annie must also navigate the demanding and often unreasonable expectations of Mrs. X (Laura Linney). As she becomes increasingly entangled in the family’s dysfunctional dynamics, Annie begins to question her own ambitions, values, and identity.

Amid the chaos, Annie forms a connection with a charming neighbor, offering her a glimpse of genuine human connection beyond the superficial world she inhabits.
