Story Overview

The Mummy tells an exhilarating adventure set against the backdrop of ancient legends and forbidden secrets. The story unfolds in 1923, as American adventurer Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser) guides two British siblings on a dangerous expedition to uncover a lost city hidden deep within Egypt. While one of the siblings is driven by dreams of unimaginable treasure, the other approaches the journey as a purely scientific and historical pursuit.

Unbeknownst to them, the sands they cross are haunted by a curse thousands of years old. Long ago, the high priest Imhotep was buried alive as punishment for a forbidden love and unspeakable betrayal. During his execution, he swore to return and unleash devastation upon the living world.

When the group finally reaches the ancient city, they unknowingly awaken a powerful and forbidden dark magic. This single mistake releases Imhotep and sets in motion a chain of supernatural horrors that rapidly spiral beyond their control, threatening not only their lives but the fate of the entire world.
