Official Trailer

Plot Summary

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire picks up in the aftermath of the 74th Hunger Games, as Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) return home to District 12 as victors. Their triumph, however, comes at a cost. Victory means embarking on the mandatory Victory Tour across the districts of Panem, where Katniss begins to sense the growing unrest simmering beneath the surface of the oppressed nation. Her defiant act with the nightlock berries has ignited hope—something far more dangerous to the Capitol than rebellion itself.

While President Snow (Donald Sutherland) works relentlessly to tighten his grip on power and suppress the rising whispers of revolution, the announcement of the 75th Hunger Games—known as the Quarter Quell—changes everything. In a cruel twist designed to remind the districts of the Capitol’s absolute authority, former victors are forced back into the arena. Katniss and Peeta must once again confront not only lethal adversaries but also a meticulously engineered battlefield far more treacherous than before.

As alliances form and trust becomes a fragile currency, Katniss finds herself at the center of something much larger than survival. Figures such as Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson), Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks), and the charismatic tribute Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) become part of a high-stakes struggle that extends beyond the arena. With rebellion spreading across Panem, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire transforms the franchise into a darker, politically charged epic—one that sets the stage for a revolution that could alter the fate of an entire nation.
