The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017)
Official Trailer
Plot Summary
The Hitman’s Bodyguard is a high-octane action-comedy that pairs explosive set pieces with sharp, fast-paced humor, built around the unlikely alliance of two sworn enemies.
Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds), once regarded as the world’s top protection agent, finds his elite reputation in ruins after a catastrophic professional failure. Struggling to reclaim his status, Bryce is suddenly assigned an extraordinary mission that could either redeem or completely destroy him.
His task is to escort Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson), one of the most notorious and lethal hitmen alive—and also his longtime nemesis—from London to The Hague. Kincaid is scheduled to testify before the International Criminal Court against a ruthless Eastern European dictator, whose power depends on silencing him at all costs.
As they race across Europe, Bryce and Kincaid are relentlessly pursued by assassins, corrupt officials, and overwhelming firepower. Forced to rely on each other to survive, the two men clash constantly, trading insults as frequently as bullets, while their mutual distrust slowly evolves into a begrudging partnership.
Blending globe-trotting action with buddy-comedy dynamics, The Hitman’s Bodyguard thrives on the electric chemistry between its leads, delivering a fast, loud, and irreverent ride that balances over-the-top violence with self-aware humor.
