Pretty Woman (1990)
Official Trailer
Plot Summary
In modern-day Los Angeles, Pretty Woman tells the fairy-tale romance that begins when Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts), a sharp-witted woman surviving on the city’s margins, unexpectedly crosses paths with wealthy businessman Edward Lewis (Richard Gere). What appears at first to be a chance encounter quickly evolves into something far more transformative.
Edward, emotionally distant and accustomed to controlling every aspect of his life, hires Vivian to accompany him during a week of business and social obligations. As they navigate upscale hotels, formal dinners, and unfamiliar worlds, both find their assumptions challenged in unexpected ways.
Through a series of coincidences and shared experiences, a single week turns into a magical romantic journey. Vivian’s warmth, honesty, and resilience begin to break down Edward’s carefully constructed emotional barriers, while Edward offers Vivian a glimpse of a life she never imagined for herself.
Balancing humor, charm, and heartfelt emotion, the film reimagines the classic Cinderella story for a contemporary audience. Pretty Woman endures as an iconic romantic comedy, celebrating connection, personal growth, and the idea that love can emerge from the most unlikely places.
