Story Overview

Set in post-World War II Spain, Pan’s Labyrinth follows the haunting journey of a young girl caught between brutal reality and a dark fantasy world. Ten-year-old Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) moves with her pregnant mother to the countryside, where her new stepfather, a ruthless army officer, is tasked with eliminating rebel forces hiding in the region.

While exploring the grounds of her new home, Ofelia discovers a mysterious ancient labyrinth. There, she encounters a strange faun who reveals that she may be the reincarnation of a lost princess from an underground kingdom. To reclaim her identity and return to her true home, Ofelia must complete a series of dangerous and surreal tasks that test her courage and innocence.
