Plot Summary

Lucky Number Slevin tells the story of a man who, due to a chain of unfortunate misunderstandings, suddenly finds himself trapped in the middle of a meticulously planned mob hit orchestrated by one of New York’s most powerful crime bosses. What begins as a simple visit quickly turns into a deadly game where mistaken identity becomes a matter of life and death.

Slevin (Josh Hartnett) is already burdened by bad luck when the story begins. His life unravels as he discovers his girlfriend’s betrayal and is forced to leave the apartment he has called home for years. Seeking a temporary escape, he travels to New York to stay with a friend, hoping for a brief respite from his troubles.

Instead, Slevin’s misfortune follows him. Through a critical mix-up, he is mistaken for someone else and pulled into an escalating gang war between ruthless crime lords. As obligations he never agreed to pile up and time runs dangerously short, Slevin must navigate a world of manipulation, violence, and hidden agendas—where every move is watched, and survival depends on uncovering the truth behind the deadly game he has unwillingly joined.
