London Has Fallen (2016)

Official Trailer

Plot Summary

Serving as the direct sequel to Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen once again places Secret Service agent Mike Banning at the center of a large-scale geopolitical nightmare. After successfully saving the President during a deadly attack on the White House, Banning (Gerard Butler) now finds himself trapped abroad — this time in London — alongside the President of the United States (Aaron Eckhart).

What begins as a routine diplomatic visit quickly turns into chaos when a highly coordinated terrorist assault devastates the British capital. World leaders are systematically targeted, global security collapses, and London becomes a war zone. Amid the destruction, Banning must rely on instinct, brute force, and unwavering loyalty to keep the President alive while navigating a city overrun by enemies.

As the situation escalates, Vice President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) works from Washington to contain the international fallout, while Banning wages a relentless ground-level battle against an enemy determined to make a global statement. The film amplifies the scale, speed, and body count of its predecessor, transforming a contained siege into an explosive international crisis.

Directed by Babak Najafi, London Has Fallen delivers a high-adrenaline action spectacle driven by nonstop momentum, urban destruction, and a familiar yet effective lone-guardian narrative. The film reinforces Mike Banning as a modern action archetype — a man whose sense of duty remains unshaken, even when the world’s most powerful leaders are under siege.
