Profession: Actor

Place of Birth: California, United States

Aaron Eckhart was born on March 12, 1968, in California, United States, as the youngest of three children to Mary Eckhart (Lawrence) and James C. Eckhart. His full name is Aaron Edward Eckhart. He has two older brothers, James Lawrence Eckhart (born 1963) and Adam Eckhart (born 1966). In 1981, at the age of 13, he moved with his family to England, where his interest in acting began while attending the school now known as ACS International Schools, then called the American Community School.

During his high school years, Aaron Eckhart relocated to Sydney, Australia. He attended the American International School of Sydney but left during his final year without graduating. He later returned to the United States, completed additional courses, and earned his high school diploma by passing external examinations. During this period, he developed a strong passion for surfing, spending time riding waves along the coastal waters of Hawaii and France.

In 1988, Aaron Eckhart returned permanently to the United States and enrolled at Brigham Young University in Provo, the third-largest city in the state of Utah. He graduated with honors in 1994 from the university’s Department of Fine Arts. In the mid-1990s, he moved to New York City, where he lived as an unemployed actor, supporting himself through temporary jobs including bus driving and construction work.

A pivotal moment in Aaron Eckhart’s career occurred in 1992 when he met director Neil LaBute at university. Their collaboration began in earnest with the 1997 dark comedy In the Company of Men, in which Eckhart portrayed a misogynistic sociopath, a performance that brought him critical attention and established him as a bold and unconventional actor.

In 2006, Aaron Eckhart received widespread acclaim for his role as Nick Naylor in Thank You for Smoking, earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor. Two years later, he reached global prominence by portraying District Attorney Harvey Dent, who transforms into the villain Two-Face, in The Dark Knight, one of the most influential superhero films of modern cinema.
