Plot Summary

L'Age des Tenebres centers on Jean-Marc (Marc Labrèche), a man who lives a life of absolute triumph in his dreams. In his fantasies, he is a radiant knight in shining armor, a celebrated star of stage and screen, and a wildly successful writer. Women adore him, desire him, and fall effortlessly at his feet. Within this imagined world, Jean-Marc is powerful, admired, and complete.

Reality, however, offers a brutally different portrait. In his everyday life, Jean-Marc is a faceless civil servant trapped in bureaucratic monotony, a disengaged husband, a failed father, and a man who can only smoke cigarettes in secrecy. His existence is defined by quiet humiliation, emotional emptiness, and a suffocating sense of irrelevance.
