Plot Summary

Richard (Paddy Considine) returns to his bleak hometown after years of absence, having once joined the army and abandoned both the town and his vulnerable younger brother. What he finds upon his return is a place frozen in decay, where cruelty and silence have long replaced justice.

As the past slowly resurfaces, Richard becomes aware of the brutal abuse his disabled brother suffered at the hands of local thugs while he was away. The weight of guilt and suppressed rage transforms into a cold, methodical desire for revenge—one shaped by military discipline and emotional restraint.

Sonny (Gary Stretch), the sadistic leader of the gang responsible for the torment, and his associates soon realize that their old crimes have not been forgotten.
