Plot Summary

Beetlejuice follows Adam and Barbara Maitland (Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis), a happily married couple whose peaceful life comes to an abrupt end after a sudden and tragic accident leaves them dead. Unaware at first of their new state, they soon realize they are ghosts bound to their beloved home.

When a new family moves into the house, Adam and Barbara attempt to scare the intruders away in order to reclaim the life they lost. However, their well-meaning but awkward efforts fail miserably, as the living occupants prove far more resilient—and disruptive—than expected.

Desperate for help, the couple turns to Betelgeuse, better known as Beter Böcek (Michael Keaton), a self-proclaimed bio-exorcist whose chaotic methods promise quick results. But what initially seems like a solution soon becomes a dangerous gamble, as Beetlejuice’s manipulative, unpredictable, and self-serving nature spirals out of control.
