William Arthur Philip Louis, widely known as Prince William, is a member of the British royal family of the House of Windsor and is second in line to the British throne, following his father. He was born on June 21, 1982, in Paddington, London, England. His father is Charles III, King of the United Kingdom, and his mother was Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales. He has a younger brother, Henry Mountbatten-Windsor (born September 15, 1984). His parents separated on December 9, 1992, and were formally divorced on August 28, 1996.



Prince William received his early education at Wetherby School, followed by Ludgrove School between 1990 and 1995. He then attended Eton College from 1995 to 2000. From 2001 to 2005, he studied at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. In 2006, he enrolled at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, later continuing his military and aviation training at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell in 2008 and the Defence Helicopter Flying School, from which he graduated in 2010.

In preparation for his future role as head of the armed forces upon ascending the throne, Prince William completed training with the Royal Air Force and qualified as a helicopter pilot. He successfully graduated from the Defence Helicopter Flying School in 2010.

On April 29, 2011, Prince William married Catherine Elizabeth Middleton at Westminster Abbey in a globally televised royal wedding. Following the marriage, William was granted the title Duke of Cambridge, and his wife became Duchess of Cambridge.

The couple has three children: Prince George of Cambridge (born July 22, 2013), Princess Charlotte of Cambridge (born May 2, 2015), and Prince Louis of Cambridge, born on April 23, 2018, whose full name is Louis Arthur Charles.
