Plot Summary

Wild at Heart follows Sailor (Nicolas Cage) and Lula (Laura Dern), two young lovers bound by an intense and reckless passion that defies every force trying to tear them apart. Their relationship is raw, obsessive, and unapologetically wild, shaped by violence, desire, and a shared urge to escape a hostile world.

When Sailor kills a dangerous man sent by Lula’s manipulative mother (Diane Ladd), he is sentenced to prison. After his release on parole, Sailor reunites with Lula, and together they set off on a road trip toward California, hoping to build a life far away from control, fear, and the shadows of their past.

Their journey, however, is anything but free. Lula’s mother relentlessly pursues them, hiring a ruthless hitman and a private detective to track them down. As Sailor and Lula travel deeper into America’s dark underbelly, their love is tested by betrayal, brutality, and surreal encounters that blur the line between fantasy and nightmare.
