Plot Summary

As his eleventh birthday approaches, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) expects nothing more than another miserable day under the roof of his neglectful relatives, the Dursleys, who have forced him to sleep in a cupboard beneath the stairs ever since his parents’ mysterious death. Deprived of affection and truth, Harry has grown up believing the fabricated story that his mother and father perished in a car accident. But everything changes when a letter—written in shimmering green ink and delivered by owl—arrives with astonishing news.

The letter is brought to him in person by the towering and warm-hearted Rubeus Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane), who reveals the secret that will transform Harry’s life forever: he is a wizard. Not only that, he has been invited to attend the legendary Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In one breathtaking revelation, Harry learns that his parents were not ordinary victims of tragedy, but figures deeply connected to a hidden magical world—and to a dark force that once sought his destruction.

Leaving behind the suffocating normalcy of his relatives’ home, Harry follows Hagrid to Londra’s King’s Cross Station, where he discovers the concealed Platform 9¾ and boards the Hogwarts Express. From that moment forward, his journey unfolds into a realm of living portraits, enchanted staircases, mystical creatures, and friendships that will define his destiny. At Hogwarts, Harry begins not only to master spells and potions, but to uncover the truth about his past and the extraordinary legacy that binds him to a world far greater than he ever imagined.

Blending wonder, suspense, and heartfelt coming-of-age storytelling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone marks the cinematic beginning of a cultural phenomenon that would reshape modern fantasy cinema and introduce audiences worldwide to a universe of magic, courage, and enduring friendship.
