Plot Summary

The Recruit follows Harry Turner, a young man working for the CIA like his father Leonard before him. Eager to move beyond desk duties and prove himself in the field, Harry repeatedly applies for active missions, only to be turned down by his superiors. Stationed in Prague under the protection of one of his father’s old associates, he struggles with frustration and the feeling of constantly being underestimated.

The situation changes dramatically when news arrives that Leonard has run into serious trouble in New Jersey. The agency’s top management immediately intervenes, treating the incident as a highly sensitive matter. Despite Harry’s insistence on joining the operation to help his father, he is once again rejected, warned to stay away and trust the chain of command.

Refusing to accept orders that keep him on the sidelines, Harry ignores all warnings and heads to New Jersey on his own. His decision pulls him into a dangerous web of secrets, loyalties, and hidden agendas, where nothing is as it seems and trust is a rare commodity.

As the CIA moves to track him down, the person assigned to find Harry turns out to be a surprising and formidable figure: his father’s former mentor, portrayed by Bruce Willis. Blending espionage, psychological tension, and family drama, The Recruit explores the fine line between loyalty and deception within the shadowy world of intelligence, where every move may be part of a much larger game.
