Story Overview

Set in the aftermath of a devastating ferry explosion in New Orleans, Deja Vu follows federal agent Doug Carlin (Denzel Washington), who is assigned to investigate what initially appears to be a terrorist attack. As forensic evidence is gathered, Carlin is unexpectedly recruited into a highly classified government program operating within a top-secret laboratory.

There, he is introduced to an experimental surveillance system capable of viewing the past with astonishing precision. What begins as an effort to identify the perpetrator soon transforms into something far more complex: the possibility of preventing the crime altogether. Faced with the moral and physical limits of manipulating time, Carlin must navigate a reality where cause and effect are no longer fixed.
