Official Trailer

Plot Summary

Boychoir follows the emotionally charged journey of Stet, a troubled 12-year-old boy growing up in a small Texas town, whose life is abruptly altered after the death of his single mother.

Left alone and emotionally adrift, Stet is encouraged by his school principal to audition for the prestigious National Boys Choir. This opportunity becomes possible when his estranged father unexpectedly reenters his life, offering the financial support needed for enrollment.

Thrown into an elite boarding school environment, Stet struggles to adapt both socially and emotionally. His rebellious nature and unresolved grief cause immediate friction within the choir, placing him at odds with authority and discipline.

Despite these challenges, the choir’s demanding and uncompromising conductor, Dustin Hoffman, recognizes an extraordinary raw talent in the boy. Determined to unlock Stet’s potential, he pushes him relentlessly, believing that discipline, pain, and perseverance are essential to artistic greatness.

As Stet confronts his inner demons, the film explores themes of loss, mentorship, redemption, and the transformative power of music—revealing how art can become both a refuge and a path toward self-discovery.
