Story Overview

In Bangkok Dangerous, Joe (Nicolas Cage) is a cold-blooded professional hitman who arrives in Bangkok to carry out a series of meticulously planned assassinations. Operating in a city where he knows neither the language nor the culture, Joe hires Kong (Shahkrit Yamnarm), a small-time con artist, to act as his local assistant and intermediary.

From the outset, Joe intends to eliminate Kong once the job is complete, following his personal code that forbids emotional ties and loose ends. However, his rigid discipline begins to fracture when he unexpectedly falls in love with a deaf and mute woman who works in a local shop. Communicating with her only through Kong, Joe finds himself drawn into a fragile emotional connection that challenges his carefully constructed detachment.

As Joe’s feelings deepen, his perspective on loyalty, morality, and survival begins to shift. His growing bond not only complicates his professional mission but also alters his attitude toward Kong, transforming a disposable accomplice into something far more dangerous to ignore. Caught between his assassin’s code and his awakening conscience, Joe is forced to confront the cost of human connection in a world built on violence and betrayal.
