Plot Summary

American Assassin follows Mitch Rapp, a highly gifted college student and accomplished athlete whose life is abruptly shattered by an unexpected tragedy. After surviving a devastating terrorist attack that claims the life of his fiancée, Rapp’s grief transforms into a relentless drive for vengeance, pushing him toward a dangerous new path.

Recognizing his raw potential and unmatched determination, CIA Deputy Director Sanaa Lathan’s Irene Kennedy recruits Mitch into one of the nation’s most elite covert operations. To prepare him for the brutal realities of the field, Cold War veteran Stan Hurley, portrayed by Michael Keaton, is assigned to train him.
