Plot Summary

3 Days to Kill follows veteran secret service agent Ethan Runner (Kevin Costner), a man whose life has been consumed by dangerous missions and long absences. Now suffering from a terminal illness and standing at the edge of death, Ethan’s greatest regret is the emotional distance between himself and his estranged daughter, whom he desperately wants to reconnect with before time runs out.

As Ethan prepares to leave the field, he is approached with an offer he cannot refuse. In exchange for participating in one final, high-risk mission, he is promised access to an experimental drug that could significantly extend his life. Faced with the possibility of survival—and the chance to be a father again—Ethan accepts the deal, fully aware of the personal cost.

The mission, however, proves more complicated than anticipated. While tracking a dangerous international criminal network, Ethan must also cope with the drug’s severe side effects, including violent hallucinations that blur reality and threaten both his mission and his sanity. Balancing his role as an assassin and a father becomes increasingly difficult as time, trust, and clarity slip away.
