Story Overview

A Crime (French title: Un crime) is a 2006 thriller film directed by Manuel Pradal, written by Pradal and Tonino Benacquista, and starring Emmanuelle Béart.

A Crime follows Vincent (Harvey Keitel), a grief-stricken man who isolates himself from the world after the tragic death of his wife. Consumed by the need for justice, Vincent vows not to allow another person into his life until he uncovers the identity of the killer responsible for the crime that shattered his world.

Living next door is Alice (Emmanuelle Béart), a mysterious and determined woman who becomes fascinated with Vincent. When her attempts to start a relationship with him are rejected, Alice decides to manipulate circumstances to achieve her goal. She selects an unsuspecting taxi driver named Roger (Norman Reedus) as a pawn in a dangerous and deceptive plan.

As Alice carefully constructs a scenario designed to draw Vincent closer, the situation spirals into a tense psychological game involving guilt, obsession, and manipulation. The story explores the unsettling truth that proving a crime that has not yet happened can be just as difficult as committing the perfect murder itself.
